Man oh Man...today was a doozy. A fifth grader kept drawing penises on his table's whiteboard much to the distress of the girls in the group. Then I had my 2nd grade class, or maybe they're first grade, all I know is that they are very small. The first half went fine, they listened and everyone said words which was an improvement to last time. But then I gave them time to color their books and things slowly dissolved into utter chaos. Boys were running around, stealing crayons from other tables, and generally misbehaving. It was actually only 3 boys that were the real trouble makers, but somehow they succeeded in stirring up all the others in the process. It was insanity for awhile as I tried to corral them all back into their seats. But they're so small and wiley they'd just go limp or slip out of my grasp. And then the cherry on top...the smallest of the boys came up behind me at the very end, while everyone was leaving, and grabbed my butt. As he walked out the door he announced he'd be back next time to give me a Ddongchim a.k.a. poking someone in the butt, right between the cheeks. I was so surprised he was so brazen! He's one of the cutest things I've ever seen, but I think he's gotten too much of an ego, breezing along on his cuteness and not obeying the rules.
I am feeling so exhausted. This job is really working me hard. But next week I have a three day workshop at a resort somewhere in the country or mountains. It looks like the same sort of orientation I attended my first year here, but hopefully I won't have to sit through any lectures about how to eat Korean food or something lame. I am looking forward to not teaching, but I have to spend two nights and three days away from my Louis and J. Not to mention I have to share a room with a stranger. I think that's what's making me the most nervous. But I bought some new clothes on the internet so won't look like a hobo anymore. It's taken about 10 years for me to shed my hobo style, but I think I'm finally blossoming into a woman.
Haha, I hope this stranger wasn't too scary or annoying;) -LC
