Louie now weighs 11.8kg. I want him to stop growing. I can still coddle him in my arms, but if he wants to get away he usually succeeds. I was looking at all the pictures I took of him as a little puppy and it's strange because I almost forgot how tiny he was. I still think he's small, so I forget that he once was a little bitty baby.
I ate a whole bag of this tonight.

It's spicy chewy rice cake. It's really spicy too. It makes me sweat when I eat it. Mmmm so good. Perfect end to a chilly day. There are three or four of these restaurants near our house, all next to each other on the same street. I've tried two of them so far and they do taste different. Ddok bok gi is not created equal. This picture is just some random off the internet and that particular bowl looks like it has odeng in it :P Odeng is processed fish made into a patty like thing. It's hard to describe, but I don't like it very much. Sometimes it's good if you're starving and there's nothing else and you only have one or two dollars because it's a really cheap street food and sits in a broth so you can drink it and warm yourself. Ddok bok gi is street food too, also only 1,000 won. Winter time is a-coming. I can feel it in my bones.
I was just hit with a memory of eating ddok bok gi at a Korean Student Association gathering at the U with Nicole...it was not good. We both gagged on it and covered it with our napkins. Preceding the event, the African American Association had a get together and I remember a frantic call coming from Nicole telling me I was missing it and all the food was gone. Apparently she thought spaghetti, ribs, and apple pie was what the Koreans were serving. We had a hearty laugh over that.
