Knackered

For the life of me, I can't get through The Zookeepers Wife.  I used to love a good WWII story.
I opened today and then [unintentionally] took a 5 hour nap when I got home.
One of my mini-bosses gave me some good advice that I should apply to my whole life.  A man was upset about the amount of money I was offering for his pile of guitar magazines which no one will buy.  Since I am a people pleaser, of course it made me feel really shitty because he went off about how it wasn't a fair offer like I was a stupid girl that didn't know what I was doing.  After he left she told me that customers shouldn't make me feel bad about myself.  It was totes rude.  The customer, not the coworker.

I wonder if loving corn is a midwestern thing.  I've always loved corn.  In middle school/high school, I'd get home from school and heat up some corn for a snack.  Back then I actually talked to friends on the phone and one of them thought I was weird because whenever she called I seemed to be eating corn.  The reason I thought of this was because I was debating whether I should eat a can of creamed corn or a can of green beans instead of going out for dinner since that requires money.  The girl with me was like, "Why would you eat a can of corn for dinner?"  All I had to say was...I like corn.  My fear of brussel sprouts was also recently conquered.  I had sworn on my life that I hated brussel sprouts because I remember eating one when I was little and spitting it out, gagging from disgust.  But!  My mother, thinking herself a sneak, served some up for Christmas dinner without saying what exactly it was, even though everyone knew...except my brother-in-law.  But that's another story.  I'm on the brussel sprouts train now, but probably only the way my father cooked them.

I bought up the New Mario Bros Wii game for my neph, but since Christmas is over I don't really have a reason to give him a gift.  I know they like getting mail so I think that alone would be an event, but I also will need something for the girl.

I really want to see Django Unchained...but I'm nervous about all the blood.  But action scenes set to the tunes of gangster rap artists of yore always puts me in a good mood.  I think I'll go Saturday morning.  I like going to the theater early in the morning for some reason.  It probably has to do with my dislike of crowds and other people.

I only want this guy ♥
