Cherry Cherry

I have to try and get my brain juices flowing this dreary Friday morning so what better way than writing down the pointless drivel that's been banging around in my head the last few days.

I couldn't help myself and watched Sister Act 2 for about the millioneth time yesterday. Have I mentioned my love for Whoopi Goldberg? I can't explain when or why this happened. Possibly it was in the fourth grade when, at a birthday party (of which I was only 1 of 2 attendees if that tells you anything), the birthday girl made us watch Sister Act and then listen to Neil Diamond. It was not until I saw Saving Silverman that my love for Neil Diamond truly transpired, but I still always think of that night, tucked into my sleeping bag, slowly drifting off to Coming To America. I just have to mention that although I have been told by countless people that Saving Silverman is utter trash, I love it for the genius band, Diamonds in the Rough. If you watch this and don't at least crack a smile, I'd have your heart checked mister!

I think I also have a schoolgirl crush on Steve Zahn. I watched Management and he looks pretty pretty pretty pretty good. He's also from MN which for some reason sits well with me. On that note, I saw the Proposal (The Proposal?) last night and yes, it was about what I expected. That Mary Steenburgen! What a cad. And Coach! At the moment I don't recall what his actual name is, all I remember is that he was on Coach and recently made an appearance on Glenn Beck ranting about something or other. My favorite appearance was Betty White of course. Golden Girls Forever! But Sandra Bullock is getting old and Ryan Reynolds is still wringing that cocky clever charming hearthrob character for all its worth. All J had to say about it was, "She's so smooth." Pfft.

What is it with nicknames? My cousin calls her son E for Ethan, my sister calls her son CJ because his name is Connor John. Unbeknownst to Jacob, I have decided to start calling him J. More importantly, I want a nickname.

I have used the expression "these days" three times already today. I'm on a roll.
I snagged this haiku from a friend's facebook page. I do not know the author, but it's a tribute to Paul Newman:
Sexy old man, whoa
excitement down below, yeah
salad dressing, mmm

Last night I went back and forth whether or not I should eat the candybar that was sitting next to me. Finally, I threw caution to the wind and just ate it. I may be surrounded by rail thin Asians, but goddammit I'm going to enjoy my chocolate bar! Actually, it wasn't that great, but it's all I have to cling to these days.

I thought maybe one of my 6th graders would come talk to me this morning, but no one showed up. Children are so odd.

  1. Sister Act 2: Back In the Habit!!!! GET IT?!?! HABIT!!! NUNS WEAR THOSE!!!!

I too like Steve Zahn. A lovable goof who on occasion turns an extremely dramatic role...such as Rescue Dawn.
