An Ode to Dairy

Oh cottage cheese, how I long for thee!
Colby Jack, when will your sweet caress ever again touch my lips?
Smoked Cheddar, your musky scent haunts my dreams.

Confessions

I feel that now I am not working at Half Price Books and I can say this freely....I like Anne Geddes. As a young girl I'd accompany my parents to various stores, Sam's Club for instance, and browse through all the Anne Geddes photo books. I bought Anne Geddes calenders and books. I know this picture is not from any in her collection, but it's a cute baby in a yoda hat nevertheless.
I'd really like to wear this costume. Yo Gabba Gabba is genius.
I just watched Savion Glover on the Colbert Report and it reminded me of the time when I longed to wear these.

The much coveted high heel tap shoes that all the older girls in dance class wore. Alas, I never made it that long to experience such a thrill.

Times like these I wish I had a tv. My beloved reality show, 2NE1 TV is returning next week and here I sit with no way to watch it.

I've been thinking about trying my hand at some Korean cooking. I've spent the last day watching cooking videos online and the woman makes it look so easy! We'll see if I can pull it off though. First I must acquire a pot and some ingredients. Blurg, I want to go back to bed, but I was having a really weird dream this morning where I was winning a bunch of prizes with my high school friends. For some reason it felt really odd.

Aaaannnddd...

We're done. The vacation is over :*( I have spent a glorious week coddling the dog and sleeping in. I've realized during this short hiatus that I really like not working. I've felt so much happier not having to deal with the little terds this past week.

Saw a man with a full beard today. He looked like Castro. Fidel, not Robert, or whatever his brother's name is. Also, a baby grabbed at me on the subway the other day. He had, probably, the biggest head I'd ever seen on a baby. Strangely enough, he was accompanied by another baby, probably his friend, that had the biggest eyes I've ever seen on an Asian child. The brother of big-head baby almost made me laugh out loud when he barked right in the face of big-eyed baby.

I ate this wrap today, but all I could think about was how good the Korean food looked the people were eating next to me. I have such a problem making decisions when it comes to food here. I can never make up my mind because everything looks good, but you never know if it will taste good. But! I did have a ham and egg salad sandwich from the bakery down the street which was the best Westernized food I've eaten in awhile.

Blimey

I've been trying to find that documentary about babies, aptly titled Babies. Alas, it's nowhere to be found!

Since I've been watching Last Comic Standing I almost feel the need to calculate time zones so I can vote for the next episode.

3 days until one week vacation....I have lots of sitting around and petting the dog planned. Plus coffee. Sometimes I wish he was smaller so I could take him places with me. The size he is now isn't really convenient for running errands. He almost overtakes me if he really muscles down and tries to jump out of my arms. Today I was holding him while "talking" to the landlord. I say it like that because our talking means he talks, in Korean, and I smile awkwardly and nod. Anyway, Louie didn't like it for some reason so he barked and tried to jump down, meanwhile scratching the buhjeezus out of me. It looks like I've been attacked. Actually, I think the worst has faded by now, he didn't draw blood or anything, but when J got home there was an audible gasp.

These past couple days have been relaxing. I really like not working, but tomorrow it's back to the grind. At least it's only for three days, and the three most tolerable schools. Time to walk my noodle.

The IT Crowd

If you're not watching this show, you should be. I want more more more! If Moss were real, he'd be my best friend.

Dreamboat

Saw Inception today. My mind was on fire with excitement. I truly enjoyed it. It's been awhile since a really good movie came here so I was quite pleased. Also, my work hours have switched to the mornings now, at least until the school's summer vacation is over. I really hate getting up so early, but being done by 1pm sure is nice. I have to keep moving all day though because if I rest too comfortably I end up falling asleep.

I think it's hotter this year than last. Or perhaps I am outside more often than usual. I have to wait until 7 or 8pm to walk the dog because it's far to hot anytime before then for extended exercise. I took him out for maybe 15-20 min today around 2 and he was plum tuckered. I go past these little dog shops on my way to work and I want to scoop up all the little puppies. I'm such a sucker for cuteness lately. Babies, puppies, even pictures of babies or puppies get me all worked up.
