Madness, I say, Madness!

I experienced a mind rocking event today. The students were misbehaving a little bit and the teacher was trying to get them to settle down so she told them to put their hands in the air. One boy continued to goof around and she started yelling. Koreans yelling is a frightening event in itself. I feel scared when it happens and I'm their co-worker! Then she called him up to the front of class and got out this wooden stick. He held out his hands and she smacked his hands really hard with the stick. I stood there hoping there wasn't a horrified look on my face, but in my head I was thinking, "ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod!" I felt so bad for the poor kid. He's one of the better students too. The rest of class was somber at best. I miss my old co-teacher.

I ate some steamed cabbage today. It was surprisingly delicious. I was left wanting more which I was not expecting when I dished it up.

I had to bite my lip the other day when a 6th grade boy farted super loud during class. I carried on with the lesson as if nothing had happened, which is what I can only imagine a grown-up would do.
