This morning after eating a brilliant breakfast of crackers and peanut butter, I stabbed myself in the roof of my mouth with a chopstick. It hurts like a mother. Every time I swallow I can feel the cut.
But! I ordered Pizza Hut tonight for dinner so I felt a little bit pleased with myself for speaking Korean. I always worry from the time I hang up the phone until the delivery man shows up whether they understood me or if I misunderstood something they said to me. It's always a gamble. Nothing too crazy has happened yet.
It's Friday night and so far I've eaten half a pizza, drank some soda, ate a cookie, watched tv, tried studying Korean, and am currently dreaming about a winter vacation to the Philippines that will never transpire because I'm broke. I miss eggrolls.

Were you eating crackers and peanut butter with chopsticks?
ReplyDeleteI was using the chopstick to spread the peanut butter! The children keep creeping up and staring at me like I'm an animal in the wild, afraid they're going to spook me.
