Proud....Minus

I've been feeling emotional about large cats lately.  There was a Bones episode in which an endangered tiger was murdered and by the end I was in tears.  IN TEARS!!  Then there are all those commercials for Life of Pi that talk about the population decrease of large cats and it makes me so sad.  I should read LoP again.  I can't remember if the tiger turned out to be a tiger or the chef...maybe it was one of those the lady or the tiger story situations.

I found some extra winter hats this afternoon.  So many hats and nowhere to strut them.  I hope my baby girl still likes Barbies.  I've decided to give her fashion themed Christmas gifts beginning with a "fashionistas" Barbie doll and now who knows!  Maybe some Lip Smackers.  I saw some cute as a button Hello Kitty rings with chapstick inside them, but I don't know if that requires more skill than a 5 year old possesses or if the ring will even fit around her little fingies.  Maybe I'll just throw in a drawing book, clothes and stuff or...something else crafty.  Now the boy is more difficult.  I'm leaning towards science with him.

Just finished reading a graphic novel about the 'missed connection' sections of papers/craigslist and it really made me want to read the column in rl.  I didn't even know of its existence before and now I'm hooked.  I search for ones in Roseville, but there aren't very many.  I'll be super excited if I ever recognize one.

While in the waiting room I was eavesdropping (one of my favorite waiting room pastimes) and I heard a few patients talking about one of my all-time favorite topics: Thanksgiving food.
Man: Blah blah blah I like stuffing.  The good kind with green whatevers...
Woman: Celery?
Man: Yeah, celery.
Celery was not where my mind went when he said "green whatevers."  I was actually still racking my brain trying to think of what in the world he could possibly be talking about, but the lady was much quicker on the draw than I.

My first secret santa mission ever has commenced.  Am I allowed to discuss the purchase with others as long as they aren't the person I'm buying for or is it a secret from everyone in the world?  What I'm most concerned about are dietary restrictions because all I can think of right now is to give baked goods.  I can't think of what else would be a good five dolla' present.  Perhaps with some sleep an idea will come to me.
